Dortmund vs Monchengladbach Summary

BVB have such attacking quality that it seems unimaginable that they will not score. With Jadon Sancho still on the team, and Erling Haaland showing no signs of slowing down in front of the goal, we expect the attacking threat of Dortmund to be too hot to handle this season.

Monchengladbach also a talisman of their own in Marcus Thuram, son of football legend Lilium. He had a fantastic campaign in the Bundestag last year and rising star Denis Zakaria made a name for himself defensively. This team has the players to win silverware this season.

Dortmund Team News and Form

Last season, Dortmund had a 62% win rate, the second-highest in the league behind Bayern Munich. In front of goal last year they weren’t too bad either, scoring 84 goals last year. Mainly thanks to attacking starlet Jadon Sancho producing a superb attacking season, along with the recent addition of goal scoring machine Erling Haaland.

In 17 games last year, Dortmund only lost three games at home. The home advantage exists for Borussia Dortmund. Defensively, Mats Hummels and the rest of the defence produced a great showing of defending quality in the Bundesliga last season.

Marco Reus recently came back from injury to play in a few friendlies before the start of the Bundesliga. Expect him to be involved in the first game against Monchengladbach.

Monchengladbach Team News and Form

Monchengladbach had a great season last year, finishing 4th and earning a place in European cup competition. They had a 59% win rate last year, the third best in the league. They also scored 66 goals last year, highlighting the attacking prowess they have in the side.

Marcus Thuram had a marvelous debut campaign in the Bundesliga last year, getting into double digits for the season. The team has improved an awful lot in the past few years; the team is heading in the right direction and silverware could be on the horizon for this team.

Denis Zakaria was injured in the latter stages of the campaign, but we expect he plays some role in the game against BVB.

Chelsea vs Liverpool Summary

An early clash between two sides many consider being Premier League title contenders this season, Liverpool travel to Chelsea this Sunday. This game last season saw Trent Alexander-Arnold score a remarkable long distance effort to seal the game for Liverpool.

Fresh off the back of finishing fourth last season, Chelsea went BIG in the transfer market, spending over £200 million on talents such as Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, and rising star Kai Havertz. After beating Brighton 3-1 last time out, the blues will give Liverpool the blues coming into the game.

Liverpool are once more the top dog in English football; they show no signs of slowing down either. A win at Anfield against Leeds with Mo Salah bagging a hat-trick will be a cause for concern for Frank Lampard. Expect some fireworks from this game. You won’t want to miss any of the action this Sunday.

Chelsea Team News and Form

Chelsea comes into the game winning four of their last five domestic matches. Last season they had a goal difference of only +15, but with the attacking additions they’ve made this summer, that number will reach new heights given their new attacking firepower.

Last season Chelsea struggled to keep clean sheets, managing a clean sheet in 24% of their games last season. To address this issue, Frank Lampard signed veteran center-half Thiago Silva from PSG this summer. He will add some much-needed solidarity to the Blue back line.

Timo Werner took a knock against Brighton, but we expect him to be fit for the Liverpool game. Ziyech will have to wait for his debut, as will Thiago Silva, but Ben Chilwell may be fit in time for this game.

Liverpool Team News and Form

The Reds earned their first Premier League title last season in 30 years, a superb showing of footballing ability from Jurgen Klopp’s men. earning 99 points last season, a magnificent achievement. Salah, Mane, and Firmino once again having a glorious attacking campaign.

Under Klopp, the scousers won 84% of their games in the Premier League last year, the best in the league and one of the top records in Europe. They have made no big-name additions this season to bolster their first team, however, they already have such a dominant side, and another Premier League trophy could head to Merseyside.

Liverpool have no injuries to report and will have a full-strength squad to take down to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Wolves vs Man City Summary

In a story of David vs Goliath, Wolves have beat the Goliath known as Manchester City in the last three meetings they have had. Molineaux has been a hard place to play for sides inside the top 6 in the past few seasons, however, you can never rule this Manchester City side out of any game.

Man City has multiple attacking playmakers such as Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne available for selection. Despite this, the threat of Raul Jimenez and the speedy Adama Traore will cause issues as usual for a Man City defence featuring new signing Nathan Ake.

Wolves have become somewhat known for being the giant killers in the Premier League, under the lights at Molineaux we could see another upset against the Mancunians. But with Pep Guardiola known for his tactical genius, we can see the citizens pulling something out of the bag.

Wolves Team News and Form

Domestically last season, Wolves have had yet another good season finishing in 7th place and clinching European football once more next season. In the Europa League, Wolves have scored 18 goals this campaign, giving them average goals scored per game of 2.0. Their home record this season has seen them pick up on average 1.63 points per game, giving them a home advantage of +6%.

On average, Wolves conceded one goal per game which is good considering they average 2 goals per game, allowing them to outscore opponents in this competition. Their record in the Europa League over the past 5 games has seen them win two games, draw two, and lost just once.

With players such as Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore, Wolves have been able to use their forwards to win games on their own. This is the make-up of a team that might go all the way. Wolves have managed two or more goals in 55% of their games, a brilliant return.

Man City Team News and Form

Domestically Man City didn’t live up to the expectations they’ve set for themselves over the past few years, finishing 2nd, 18 points behind winners, Liverpool. Man City finished the year with 81 points and a goal difference of 67, the highest number in the Premier League last season.

In the Premier League, City has won 68% of all games they played last season, a number that ranks highly among Europe’s elite clubs. Man City has managed to bring in some talented players such as Ferran Torres to further boost their attacking options, so it should be a recipe for a lot of goals this season.

Sergio Aguero is in a race against time to be fit to play the game, coming back from a knee injury. Meaning Brazilian hotshot Gabriel Jesus could lead the line against Wolves.

Bayern Munich vs Schalke Summary

Two historic teams in german football will raise the curtain on a new Bundesliga season as Bayern Munich host Schalke. Fresh from winning their eighth consecutive Bundesliga, Bayern Munich seem stronger than ever to claim their ninth. With the addition of former Man City starlet Leroy Sane, the Bundesliga reigning champions are an attacking powerhouse.

Schalke hasn’t finished inside the European places since the 2015/16 season in the Bundesliga. A side that has seen a decline in the past few years and from finishing 12th last season, they will hunt for a bounce-back season under former Huddersfield manager David Wagner.

It seems common knowledge to most football fans that under the lights of the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich are domestically unstoppable. Despite this, Schalke has a tendency to cause an upset every once in a while. The Bavarians coming into the game have the bull by the horns by Schalke won’t go down easy without a fight.

Bayern Munich Team News and Form

Bayern Munich finished with 82 points, a very impressive return. The Bavarians only lost four games out of 34 which shows just how dominant of a force Bayern Munich are in the Bundesliga. Remarkably, Bayern Munich won 76% of all games they played in the Bundesliga last year, one of the best records in Europe.

With a goal difference last season of +68that figure will be higher this season, with Robert Lewandowski looking to extend his goal-scoring record from last year. Not to mention Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman waiting in the wings and the addition of Leroy Sane only bolsters their attacking options.

Bayern Munich has no notable injuries to report, the only player on the sideline is former PSG defender, Tanguy Nianzou.

Schalke Team News and Form

Schalke has seen the departure of two key pieces of the puzzle in Weston McKennie and Jean-Claire Tobido, they have not replaced these departures with significant talent either. They have not won a competitive game in the Bundesliga since 25th January 2020.

Earning an average of 1.15 points per game in the league, and a singular point on the road on average this game looks an arduous task for Schalke. The team looks to be on the decline, but perhaps under a premier league level manager in Wagner, this upcoming season might be one of resurgence.

Schalke are like Bayern in the fact they have no significant injuries in their first-team squad. They will need all of their top players available if they’re looking to get a result away at the Allianz.

La Liga 2020/21 Season Preview: Who will take home the La Liga crown? Who will fall from the top flight of Spanish football? Potential Unsung Hero in the title race?

11th September marks the return of La Liga football. We preview the potential outcome of the season including the schedule, teams, players, and early La Liga 2020/21 season predictions.

When is the La Liga 2020/21 season kicking off?

The 11th September signals the return of top-flight Spanish football; the first match of the new season will be Granada taking on Athletic Bilbao at home. Following the first match of the season, September 12th marks a double-header with Eibar vs Celta Vigo and newly promoted Cadiz play Osasuna.

The action rolls on with a triple threat matchday seeing Real Valladolid vs Real Sociedad, Villareal vs Huesca, and Valencia vs Levante.

What is the La Liga 2020/21 schedule for the upcoming season?

Similar to the format following the restart of the 2019/20 La Liga season, the schedule for the upcoming season in Spanish football will see teams play games every couple of days, with some teams having to play up to three games in one week.

To our knowledge, only the first five matchdays for each team have been released by the Spanish football authorities but it is to be expected that the remainder of the season will follow the same format as the first five matchdays.

What time do the La Liga games kick-off?

The most common kick-off time in Spanish football is 21:00 GBT, Every matchday that has been released has featured a 21:00 kick-off including the first game of the season which is Granda vs Athletic Bilbao. On the weekends the earliest kick-off would be 16:00 GBT, other games commonly kick-off at 18:30 respectively on the weekends.

Football Banner

Who got promoted to La Liga following the 2019/20 season?

The Segunda Division saw three teams be pushed into the Spanish footballing limelight for the upcoming season. 2nd division winners, Huesca earned 70 points last year, closely behind in 2nd place was Cadiz on 69 points.

The last team to earn promotion was Real Zaragoza, a side who narrowly made it into La Liga for the upcoming season.

Who got relegated following the 2019/20 season?

Espanyol finished rock bottom of La Liga following the curtain dripping on the 19/20 season with 25 points. eight points behind Mallorca in 19th place. Both sides have been below par this past season, both losing 23 games in a 38 game season. Each of these teams were the subject of a mauling by the big dogs at the top of the La Liga table.

In contrast to  Espanyol and Real Mallorca, Leganes unfortunately were the last team to meet the drop being only a single point from safety.

Who won the La Liga title last time out?

As ever, the ongoing rivalry between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid dominated Spanish football. The latter came away with the title this season as Real Madrid finished five points clear of the Blaugrana to earn their 34th league title. This upcoming season will see these two footballing giants be at the epicenter of the title race, but this time Barcelona will look for vengeance.

Football Banner

What were the talking points from the La Liga 2019/20 season?

Despite another other-worldly season by Lionel Messi, the Catalans came up short in the title race as Zinedine Zidane once again took La Liga silverware back to the capital. Every season young academy players often get the chance to impress in the first team, but this year, another world-beater may have been brought to light in Barcelona.

Ansu Fati brought hope that he may be the heir to Lionel Messi’s throne as the Argentine reaches the twilight of his career.

Who were the top players last season in La Liga?

To nobody’s surprise, Lionel Messi once again ranked as the best goalscorer in the league with 25 goals this season, registering a further 21 assists. However, following the events from the past few weeks, his time in La Liga may end, so it is important to enjoy his talent while he is still in Spain.

Team Previews

Below highlights our La Liga 2020/21 predictions for each team and where they will end up at the end of the season.

Alaves (19/20 – 16th in La Liga)

Following a season whereby Alaves barely survived the drop, this season will hopefully be one of resurgence for them. While they made no notable transfers to raise fans’ hope of a successful season, the team boasts solid goal-scoring options with former Arsenal striker Lucas Perez lining up with ex-Manchester City talisman John Guidetti.

However, only three teams scored fewer goals than Alaves last season, and they will need to find the net more often if they want to avoid the drop. I can see Alaves around 15th.

Athletic Bilbao (19/20 – 11th in La Liga)

A disappointing season for Athletic Bilbao, who slipped to 11th in the league last season. A big positive for the side will be if their golden boy, Inaki Williams, stays at the club. Raul Garcia continues to provide a threat in front of goal with 15 goals last this season.

I can see the 2020/21 season being a bounce-back season for them. If they can have another defensively sound season, I can see them finishing as high as 8th.

Atletico Madrid (19/20 – 3rd in La Liga)

One of the league’s most notable teams behind Barcelona and Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid will want to mount a title challenge this upcoming season. Diego Simeone struggled to get the team firing at the start of the season, and they dropped a lot of points by drawing 16 games, the joint-most in the league.

Given the squad they have, the managerial mastermind of Diego Simeone and the fact Barca could struggle in their early rebuild days, I predict a 2nd place finish for Atleti this season.

Barcelona (19/20 – 2nd in La Liga)

Following the humiliating 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich last season in the Champions League, Barcelona are going through major changes throughout the club. Their key man Lionel Messi pushed for a shock exit, and the club are looking to move on some big players including Luis Suarez.

While Messi set to stay this season, the squad is going undergoing a rebuild under new boss Ronald Koeman. I can’t see them overhauling Real Madrid, and I think they could finish as low as 3rd.

Football Banner

Celta Vigo (19/20 – 17th in La Liga)

Where did it all go wrong for Celta Vigo last season? Finishing 17th in the league shows a big fall from grace since their Europa League semi-final appearance in 2017. Despite boasting talent such as Iago Aspas and Denis Suarez, the future of the club looks in doubt.

The departure of Pione Sisto is a blow for the side too. Despite this, I can’t see the North West Spanish club in another relegation scrap this season.

Cadiz (19/20 – 2nd in Segunda Division)

Newly promoted from the Segunda Division to La Liga for next season, Cadiz will hope to cause a shock next year. The club has made a few transfers, bringing in several La Liga squad players to help the team avoid the drop.

That being said, the team does not have the talent to compete with several top grade sides in Spanish football. Therefore,  I fear they will go straight back down next season finishing 19th.

Eibar (19/20 – 14th in La Liga)

A sturdy mid-table finish last year where Eibar finished 14th was about where many people thought they would be. That being said, this year doesn’t look as promising, where the squad is aging and Damian Kadzior being the highlight of the transfer window.

There have been more outs than ins at the minnow club who continue to battle above their weight. This year could be one to forget for Eibar, and I can see them finishing in the relegation zone in 18th.

Elche (19/20 – 6th in Segunda Division)

The third side to win promotion to La Liga, just about making it the playoffs of the Segunda Division, it could set Elche for a rude awakening in the league this season. With five departures met with a single loan signing, the team on paper looks worse off than last season.

With the smallest squad market value in La Liga with a total value less than £7m, I can only see Elche finishing rock bottom of La Liga next year. Survival would be one of the biggest shocks of the season.

Football Banner

Getafe (19/20 – 8th in La Liga)

Last season, Getafe shocked the footballing world when they knocked Ajax out of the Europa League and just finishing outside the Europa League places this year. The side has made several signings to help bolster their European aspirations, including Marc Cucurella from Barcelona.

It could be another exciting season for Getafe, who made an excellent start to their last campaign. I can see them finishing around the same position as they push to secure European football once again.

Granada (19/20 – 7th in La Liga)

Another team to cause a shock last season, Granda finished last season in 7th place. A remarkable campaign for the side, one which they will hope to replicate this upcoming season. One area they needed improvement was defensive midfield, and by adding veteran Maxime Gonalons from Roma, they did just that.

While they were impressive last year, they have Europa League to contend with which, should they progress deep into the competition, could disrupt their domestic campaign. I can see Granada finishing around 9th place next season.

SD Huesca (19/20 – 1st in Segunda Division)

Segunda Division title winners SD Huesca will look to cause a stir among the big boys of Spanish football this season. To counter the attacking firepower of the teams in La Liga, they signed Schalke center-back Pablo Insua.

They have a squad capable of staying in the league. It will be no simple task, but survival is definitely on the cards for SD Huesca. I can see them staying up and finishing around 16th.

Levante (19/20 – 12th in La Liga)

Finishing 12th last season, Levante has a strong squad that could look to mount a top-half finish next year. That being said, however, they recently sold speedster Moses Simon to FC Nantes, a blow to their attacking threat.

This may hinder their chances of a top-half finish, and despite bringing in seven new players, this year could be worse than the last for Levante. They will probably finish around the same place, I can see them finishing 13th this season.

Football Banner 2

Osasuna (19/20 – 10th in La Liga)

Bang in the middle of the table last year finishing 10th, Osasuna had a campaign to remember in 2019/20. To continue to compete, they have brought in a handful of players to plug the gaps they needed to fill in their squad.

The team looks to be on the right track and we will hope to build on last seasons’ top half finish. I reckon they could be in for another solid La Liga campaign and finish around mid-table again.

Real Betis (19/20 – 15th in La Liga)

A team who performed well below expectations last year, Real Betis had to settle for 15th place last season. Real Betis need reinforcements, and they are strengthening. The signings of former Barcelona stopper Claudio Bravo and his former teammate Martin Montoya should help secure the defense a little better than last season.

With Nabil Fekir still performing to high quality, this could be a year of resurgence for Betis. I can see them finishing in mid-table around 11th place.

Real Madrid (19/20 – 1st in La Liga)

The 2019/20 La Liga winners look to be a favorite for the title next season. No major signings have been made by the 34-time title winners, but their squad depth is among the best in Europe.

With Brazilian trickster Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo either side of Karim Benzema, it spells a recipe for a lot of success again this season. The Barca rebuild should present an opportunity to retain the title, and I can see Los Blancos topping the table once again.

Real Sociedad (19/20 – 6th in La Liga)

Finishing 6th last year, Sociedad looks to have a firm grip on European football places in La Liga. Add Manchester City legend David Silva into the mix and this season could be special for the San Sebastian club.

That being said, a 34-year-old veteran cannot carry a team alone, and without a stellar support cast, Real Sociedad may fall victim to not living up to the hype. Another top six finish could be on the cards for Real Sociedad this season.

Football Banner

Real Valladolid (19/20 – 13th in La Liga)

Bringing in 14 additional players to the team will surely help secure La Liga football again after next season, right? Perhaps not. The team sold their main defensive asset Mohammed Salisu to Southampton so the side will need to pray that they will fill the void in defense.

I predict this season may not be as good as expected by Real Valladolid fans. I think they will finish around 17th place.

Sevilla (19/20 – 4th in La Liga)

The Europa League winners are back in champions league football once again. Sevilla has got a fantastic set up under former Spain and Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui with brilliant players such as Suso and Luuk de Jong.

Add in the addition of Ivan Rakitic and Real Madrid playmaker Oscar Rodriguez, the top four is once again a reality. I can see Sevilla earning a top four spot again.

Valencia (19/20 – 9th in La Liga)

After finishing 9th last season, the outcome of last season ought to disappoint Valencia. Despite last season’s outcome, this year could go even more downhill. With the sales of key players such as Ferran Torres, Rodrigo, Daniel Parejo, Ezequiel Garay, and many more, it does not look very promising.

Add to this no notable additions to fill this void in the squad and the financial troubles a the club, I think Valencia will finish below the top half.

Villarreal (19/20 – 5th in La Liga)

A 5th place finish last year would have pleased Villarreal fans, but with Unai Emery now at the helm and several brilliant first-team additions made this summer window top four should be a formality. They have snatched both Dani Parejo and Francis Coquelin

However, they have sold a few first-team players to make way for these transfers. As a result, I predict the team to once again finish around 5th this season.

Man City vs Lyon Summary

English giants Man City square off against French side Lyon in the last game of the Champions League Quarter Finals. For the Mancunians, this would see them advance into the semi-final stage for the first time since 2016, and Lyon have been able to reach the last eight for the first time in 10 years.

The former Premier League champions will look to add to their silverware collection following their Carabao Cup victory over Aston Villa in March. Lyon will also be thirsty for silverware after being runners up in the Coupe de la Ligue, losing to PSG in the Final.

While many will expect City to advance into the semi-final stage, Memphis Depay and co. could cause an upset over this one-leg tie. It wouldn’t be the first time in this quarter-final stage that French side has overcome all the odds either.

Man City Team News and Form

Domestically Man City didn’t live up to the expectations they’ve set for themselves over the past few years, finishing 2nd, 18 points behind winners, Liverpool. Man City finished the year with 81 points and a goal difference of 67, the highest number in the Premier League this season.

In the Premier League, City has won 68% of all games they played this season, a number that ranks highly among Europe’s elite clubs. City have also been on fire, scoring 11 in their last three competitive games. Having to overcome Real Madrid in the last round, City capitalised on two Raphael Varane mistakes and will look to pounce on any mistakes in the Lyon back line.

Sergio Aguero is in a race against time to be fit to play the game, coming back from a knee injury. Meaning Brazilian hotshot Gabriel Jesus could lead the line against Lyon.

Lyon Team News and Form

Lyon had a domestic campaign to forget, finishing 7th in Ligue 1 and well off the Champions League places for next season. They had 40 points and a goal difference of 15, the 2nd highest in the league behind PSG. However, very few teams could see off Juventus over two legs.

They have won roughly 40% of all games in Ligue 1 this season, a number the side will look to improve on next season. Usually such a force of nature in French football, this Lyon side will look for a European lifeline by winning the competition if they want to compete in it next season. Their key man, forward Memphis Depay, will be key for this side, with Borussia Dortmund apparently after the Dutchman.

Lyon have no injuries to their key players so if they will have to seize this opportunity to continue to play in Europe’s elite club competition next season.

Barcelona vs Bayern Summary

Barcelona will go toe-to-toe with the favourites, Bayern, this Friday evening. Each of these colossus football clubs has seen Champions League glory in the past decade; perhaps an 11th title beckons for Bayern or Barcelona could clinch their third Champions League trophy this decade.

This is the match that all the neutral fans will eye up this week, watching Barcelona stars such as Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann try to score past the German wall that is Manuel Neuer. The matchup between two future stars, Ansu Fati and Alphonso davies also adds to the anticipation.

This game has all the hallmarks of an absolute classic, with both teams recognized as European giants it’ll be a game that cannot be missed. The winner will take on the winner of Manchester City vs Lyon.

Barcelona Team News and Form

After Narrowly missing out on the La Liga title, five points behind winner Real Madrid, the Catalan giants will hunt for a trophy to close the season with. Concluding the season with 82 points and a goal difference of 48, the best in the league.

Domestically, Barcelona has won 66% of their matches this season, an excellent record. This will give the club and its fans significant confidence coming into the game. In the Champions League, their record shows they haven’t lost a single game during this campaign, a remarkable statistic.

Lionel Messi picked up a slight knock from a challenge by Kalidou Koulibaly in the previous meeting against Napoli. Despite getting treatment following the game, I will expect Messi to play a role of some capacity on Friday night.

Bayern Munich Team News and Form

Bayern has won their eighth consecutive Bundesliga title this season, a fantastic achievement. They had a staggering win percentage domestically of 76% and one of the best records in Europe. They also better Barcelona’s goal difference in the league, as Bayerns goal difference stands at a scintillating 68!

Since the restart of the season, Bayern hasn’t lost a single game domestically, showing just how ruthless of a side they are. Robert Lewandowski has been the focal point of this Bayern side, scoring 34 Bundesliga goals this season.

Bayern will test Alphonso Davies to determine if they deem the Canadian fit to play against Barcelona following a knock sustained against Chelsea. Jerome Boateng and Kingsley Coman return to the side.

Jake’s Betting Tips

There have been at least three goals in four of the last five meetings between these sides, not to mention both teams are coming off high-scoring wins in the previous round. You can get Over 2.5 Goals at 4/7* with Mark Jarvis.

The Polish forward Robert Lewandowski surely would have been in the conversation for Balon d’Or winner had the event not been cancelled this year. He continues to put up ridiculous goal numbers once again and you can get him to score anytime at 8/11* with Mark Jarvis.

This Barca side will be no pushover, but it makes sense to back Bayern to win because that’s what they’ve been doing under Hans-Dieter Flick. They just don’t look like losing at the moment and you can get Bayern to win in 90 minutes at Evs* with Mark Jarvis.

Inter Milan vs Bayer Leverkusen Summary

Bayer Leverkusen travels to Dusseldorf, Germany to take on a rejuvenated Inter Milan side under Antonio Conte. Fresh off their wins in the Round of 16 stages of the Europa League, both teams will feel that European glory is well within their reach.

Both teams have players that can make the difference, Bayer Leverkusen creative genius Kai Havertz has been going from strength to strength this season, while Romelu Lukaku has scored 30 goals in all competitions this season. A much better return following his transfer from Manchester United.

This game has all the hallmarks of an absolute classic, with both teams recognized as European giants it’ll be a game that cannot be missed. The winner will take on the winner of Shakhtar Donetsk vs FC Basel.

Inter Milan Team News and Form

Off the back of a good bounce-back season for Inter Milan finishing 2nd in the league behind Juventus, the Nerazzurri will be hopeful of claiming a European title following their exit from the Champions League.

Their dominance in the Serie A this season is demonstrated by their 63% win percentage across all games played this season. In their last five league games, they’ve won three and drawn two. In comparison with their Europa League form, winning all three of their games in the competition gives valuable evidence to show why they are one favourite for the trophy.

The only player set to miss this match is Matias Vecino. The Uruguayan midfielder is out with a knee injury. The front pair of Romelu Lukaku and Latauro Martinez are likely to start, with former Manchester United players Ashley Young looking to help Inter to the semi-finals.

Bayer Leverkusen Team News and Form

A fifth-place finish for Bayer Leverkusen isn’t exactly what they would have wanted this season, missing out on Champions League football means winning this competition is the only way to play against the elite teams in Europe.

Their record domestically as of late has left much to be desired, winning twice, drawing once, and losing twice. While they secured European football for next season, this form may worry fans over the outcome of the game against Inter Milan.

Bayer Leverkusen executives have stated Kai Havertz will play the rest of the tournament for the side, a major boost for Leverkusen. This may be the perfect opportunity for a fairytale send-off for Havertz if he is to leave in the summer. Nadiem Amiri and Paulinho are missing for B04.
