Reading vs Leeds United
Who? Reading vs Leeds United in Matchweek 18 action of the EFL Championship 2019/20.
Where? Madejski Stadium, Berkshire
When? 20:00 GMT, Tuesday 26th November 2019 (Live on Sky Sports)
Premier League-chasing Leeds United head south on Tuesday night as they face Mark Bowen’s Reading at the Madejski Stadium.
Since Mark Bowen has taken over the Royals, Reading have seen an improvement in form. His appointment came with some mixed responses and reactions, however, he has picked up three wins and a draw in his first five matches. All three wins have come at home, with the 1-0 win over Preston their first home win in four attempts. Those ten points accumulated have seen the hosts move onto 18 points for the season, two more points than they managed in their first 11 games. The team has only failed to score a home once this season, and we expect that run to continue even against a strong Leeds United side.
For Marcelo Bielsa, his Leeds United team are looking to avenge their drop off last season as they missed out on promotion to the Premier League. The visitors are currently sat 2nd in the table behind West Brom, who have only lost one league game all season. The defensive record has been magnificent, having only conceded ten goals in 17 games which is the best record in the EFL Championship. With the defence so strong, it has limited the attack to 23 goals.
There are ten other teams in the league with the same number or goals or better, including 22nd place Luton Town. They need to score more to improve that goal difference further, as they have only scored more than twice once in their last 15 matches in all competitions.
Reading (16/5* to Win): The Royals will be without midfielders Charlie Adam and Jordan Obita. Unfortunately for Mark Bowen, key player Andy Yiadom is suspended and Chris Gunter may come into the side to replace the Ghanaian.
Leeds United (17/20* to Win): Liam Cooper is back and available for selection in the defensive line for Leeds United. There are no other injury concerns or suspensions, and we expect Bielsa to play his strongest line-up.
