Where? Emirates Stadium, London, England
When? 20:00 GMT, Thursday 27th November 2019
Arsenal can secure their place in the next round of the Europa League with a win against Eintracht Frankfurt in Group F at the Emirates Stadium.
Position – 1st (as of Wednesday 27th November)
Form (UEL/League) – DWW/DLDDL
W/D/L – 3/1/0
The hosts are unbeaten in all four of their games in this UEL campaign sit on 10 points. Arsenal have managed three wins and a draw with manager Unai Emery in charge. The disappointing collapse against Vitoria last time out means there is still work to do for the Gunners. A win against third place Eintracht Frankfurt would seal qualification from the group going into their final game against Standard Liege.
GF/GA – 11:3
Emery has seen his side produce some of their best performances in the Europa League this season. The Gunners managed two impressive performances against Frankfurt away and Liege at home, winning 3-0 and 4-0. Arsenal just got over the line against Vitoria at home. Their decline in performances in the Europa League reflects their league form, and this game will be a big test of the squads character.
Position – 3rd (as of Wednesday 27th November)
Form (UCL/League) – LWW/LLWLW
W/D/L – 2/0/2
The away side have had a mixed Europa League campaign this season. After being clinically picked off by Arsenal in Matchweek 1, Frankfurt responded with back-to-back wins. A narrow 1-0 win at Vitoria and a 2-1 victory at home to Liege means Frankfurt moved on six points. Disappointingly they lost the reverse fixture to Liege 2-1, meaning both teams sit on six points heading into the final two matches. It is all to play for with bottom club Vitoria travelling to to the Germans in Matchweek 6.
GF/GA – 4:6
Goals have been a problem for Frankfurt in the UEL this season. Manager Adi Hütter has seen his side score four goals across the four games, having only scored more than once against Liege at home. The incident involving defender David Abraham in the Bundesliga means the defence is not as strong either. Frankfurt have scored two of their four goals in the first half, and will need to get an early goal to hugely pressure Arsenal and Emery.
19th Sep 2019 – Eintracht Frankfurt 0-3 Arsenal
