Premier League MW18: Saturday Tips

Premier League Matchweek 18: Saturday 21st December Betting Tips

Matchweek 18 of the Premier League provides SEVEN games for our tips, taking place across the country on Saturday after cup clashes for some clubs.

The early kick off sees two busy clubs away from the pitch, Everton and Arsenal, go head-to-head at Goodison Park. Arsenal have appointed Mikel Arteta as their new head coach as a replacement for fellow Spaniard Unai Emery and then caretaker boss Freddie Ljungberg.  The Toffees are set to secure a big name in Carlo Ancelotti as their next boss, but they have confirmed Duncan Ferguson will take charge of his third Premier League match as interim boss. The 3pm kick offs include…

  • Aston Villa FC vs Southampton FC
  • AFC Bournemouth vs Burnley FC
  • Brighton & Hove Albion FC vs Sheffield United FC
  • Newcastle United FC vs Crystal Palace FC
  • Norwich City FC vs Wolverhampton Wanderers FC

The evening kick off, at 17:30 GMT, features a huge clash between two top four sides. Manchester City host Leicester City, with a chance for the hosts to close the gap on the Foxes in second place. The Citizens have a strong record against Leicester, especially at home, having only lost to them in Leicester’s title-winning season. However, the defensive frailties at the back could contribute towards a very entertaining Saturday Night viewing.

Everton FC vs Arsenal FC (12:30 GMT — BT Sport)

We expect a close-fought game as both sides could look to impress their incoming managers, but the hosts could edge this one.

Match Result – Everton – 13/10*

Correct Score – Everton 2-1 Arsenal – 17/2*

Goals – Over 2.5 Goals – 4/7*

Goalscorer – Dominic Calvert-Lewin Anytime Scorer – 7/4*

Aston Villa FC vs Southampton FC (15:00 GMT)

We can see the points going to the hosts who, despite some poor league form, will have a boost from the 5-0 win and knowing Saints’ have a poor away record.

Match Result – Aston Villa – 11/8*

Correct Score – Aston Villa 2-1 Southampton – 17/2*

Goals – Over 2.5 Goals – 4/6*

Goalscorer – Danny Ings Anytime Scorer – 6/5*

AFC Bournemouth vs Burnley FC (15:00 GMT)

The Clarets have won their last two visits on the south coast and we can see them taking advantage of an injury-hit Bournemouth side and make it back-to-back wins.

Match Result – Burnley – 2/1*

Correct Score – Bournemouth 1-2 Burnley – 10/1*

Goals – Over 2.5 Goals – 10/11*

Goalscorer – Chris Wood Anytime Scorer – 17/10*

Brighton & Hove Albion FC vs Sheffield United FC (15:00 GMT)

The Blades are still unbeaten away from home this season, but the hosts have drawn back-to-back games so we can see it finishing all square in this one.

Match Result – Draw – 23/10*

Correct Score – Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Sheffield United – 5/1*

Goals – Under 2.5 Goals – 7/10*

Goalscorer – George Baldock Anytime Scorer – 12/1*

Newcastle United FC vs Crystal Palace FC (15:00 GMT)

The two experienced English bosses clash in Steve Bruce and Roy Hodgson, and with some low-affair previous meetings, we can see Palace will pick up another away victory.

Match Result – Crystal Palace – 9/4*

Correct Score – Newcastle United 0-2 Crystal Palace – 14/1*

Goals – Under 2.5 Goals – 4/7*

Goalscorer – Luka Milivojevic Anytime Scorer – 7/2*

Norwich City FC vs Wolverhampton Wanderers FC (15:00 GMT)

The Canaries could do with a win to build on their solid draw at Leicester, but the visitors are so good away from home and we expect a Wolves win.

Match Result – Wolverhampton Wanderers – 19/20*

Correct Score – Norwich City 1-3 Wolverhampton Wanderers – 14/1*

Goals – Over 3.5 Goals – 15/8*

Goalscorer – Adama Traore Anytime Scorer – 16/5*

Manchester City FC vs Leicester City FC (17:30 GMT — Sky Sports Main Event)

We expect an entertaining encounter between the two top four sides, however, with Leicester starting to concede goals again, we expect the hosts to win this one.

Match Result – Manchester City – 1/3*

Correct Score – Manchester City 2-1 Leicester City – 8/1*

Goals – Over 2.5 Goals – 4/9*

Goalscorer – Jamie Vardy Anytime Scorer – 7/4*
