Sheffield United vs Manchester United
Who? Sheffield United vs Manchester United in Super Sunday action in Matchweek 13 of the Premier League 2019/20
Where? Bramall Lane, Sheffield
When? 16:30 GMT, Sunday 24th November 2019
The only match on Super Sunday in the Premier League sees high-flying Sheffield United host a resurgent Manchester United at Bramall Lane.
The Blades are flying this season and playing with confidence and efficiency. The defensive structure is very solid, as they have not conceded over two goals in a game. Leicester City are the only side to come away with a win when scoring twice. Even that required a world class strike from Harvey Barnes to take all three points. The efficiency of getting results from low-scoring matches and keeping things tight is working for Chris Wilder, who is rightly receiving a lot of plaudits this season.
It is another televised game for the Blades who will have a full house Bramall Lane bouncing with a great atmosphere. They are capable, as they have proven, to beat any team on their day with the system and players they have. Another big team effort to keep Manchester United’s front line quiet and apply pressure to a vulnerable Red Devil back line could see the hosts record another remarkable win.
For United, their form has finally started to improve as the Red Devils continue to climb the table. The impact centre forward Anthony Martial has made since returning from injury will delight Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Since his hamstring injury, United have only lost one match in which the French man has featured in. The former AS Monaco striker has three goals and has helped find the form of Marcus Rashford who has returned to the left of the attack.
The defence has been okay but United have not kept a league clean sheet away from home all season long which will give the hosts confidence. The full backs will need to be disciplined when Sheffield have the ball as the unusual system of overlapping centre backs could cause the same problems it has done to the rest of the league this season. We can probably see a draw, however, it is set to be a tight game and either team could snatch this by a single goal.
Sheffield United (5/2* to Win): Dean Henderson is ineligible to play against his parent club. 29-year-old back-up goalkeeper Simon Moore is in line to make his Premier League debut for the Blades. The only injury concern is central defender John Egan, who picked up a knock during international duty. The Irishman was taken off ahead of the second half.
Manchester United (6/5* to Win): Eric Bailly, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Diogo Dalot, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Axel Tuanzebe, Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof & Scott McTominay are all out injured. We expect the front line of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Daniel James to feature.
