UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs Harris betting tips

We look at the third of three UFC events in one week from Jacksonville, featuring Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris in UFC Fight Night weekend action.

Alistair Overeem (NED) vs Walt Harris (USA)

The UFC originally set this heavyweight bout for Portland back in mid-April but these two will finally clash in Jacksonville this weekend. Overeem sits at six in the Heavyweight Division, whilst Harris makes up the Top 10.

Overeem

“The Demolition Man” turns 40 on Sunday, and will make his 18th UFC appearance after his debut in 2011 against none other than Brock Lesnar. With a UFC record of 10-7, Overeem is coming off a latest defeat against Jairzinho Rozenstuick back in December. He did however manage first round TKOs against Alexey Oleynik and Sergei Pavlovich. The Dutch can cause Harris a serious problem if this fight goes to the ground and win at 13/10* with Mark Jarvis.

Harris

It has been a very tough time away from the canvas for Walt Harris. The tragic disappearance and death of his step-daughter may or may not affect him inside the cage.”‘The Big Ticket’s” determination to climb the heavyweight rankings will be higher than ever. After back-to-back losses against Fabricio Werdum and Mark Godbeer, Harris is undefeated in four bouts, and carries a serious KO threat to Overeem at 6/10* with Mark Jarvis if he keeps this fight on the feet.

Fight Winner tip – Overeem 13/10*

Claudia Gadelha (BRA) vs Angela Hill (USA)

In the only female fight of the Main Card, Women’s Strawweight title contender Claudia Gadelha faces Angela Hill in an important bout for the careers of both fighters. Gadelha is seventh in the Strawweight Division, whilst Hill will look to break into the Top 15.

Gadelha

The Brazilian has gone 6-4 since her UFC debut in 2014 and has faced some of the best female fighters. She suffered a title defeat to Joanna Jedrzejczyk in 2016 and has shared the cage with Jessica Andrade. Galdeha is a three-time BJJ champion and all except one of her UFC fights have gone the distance. A win against Randa Markos last summer puts her career back on track for another chance at the belt. “Claudinha” could get her title shot again with a win here at 1/2* with Mark Jarvis.

Hill

Californian native Hill comes into this fight with an impressive three wins since September. She has already fought twice this year, and like Gadelha, has faced some of the best fighters including Carla Esparza and Rose Namajunas. The kickboxer also ended two of her last three fights by TKO, her first wins in the UFC not by decision. “Overkill” could carry this fine momentum and cause an upset at 6/4* with Mark Jarvis.

Fight Winner tip – Gadelha 1/2*
